Recs if you like Lonely Crowds...

litfic and historical fiction with the sapphic yearning turned allll the way up!

suggestions welcome 🫡

books about the beauty and heartbreak of lifelong, ever-evolving female friendships. oh, to have been children together! to have grown up together, or to have grown apart!

novels that track friendships throughout time. full of complex childhood comparison trauma, friend break ups and perhaps reconciliations, shifting friend group dynamics, and the impact of age on our most foundational relationships.

books featuring Sapphic characters who could be described as aimless, cowardly, strange, lacking good judgment, or just plain annoying. always looking for recs ❤️

Shamelessly yoinked from a certain other reading app that shall not be named... this is a list of recently published (2025-2026) LGBTQ+ fiction across a spectrum of genres and identities!

(Disclaimer: I haven't read most of these, but so many compelling covers made me want to save them all in a list to continue referencing into the future.)

Fiction books from The New York Times' "100 Notable Books of 2025" list

Note: I will be deleting my PB account within the next two weeks, and I believe this list will be erased. Feel free to screenshot it if you see anything that interests you! ☺️ 3/17/2026

An ode to the best and the worst parts of girlhood

according to the new york times' november list

I love reading books about complicated friendships/love/sisterhood between girls and women so I made a list just for it.

The list includes historical and contemporary literary fiction.
