This book is where the main plot sort of hits its stride, and I think Turtle is the perfect dragon to do that with. He's sweet, he's scared, he's devoted to his family (but also adrift from them in a lot of ways - Sea Wing pun). But he also has the abilities that make this book seem possible at the current point in the series.
I think I felt the most tense throughout this one, and that's probably because Turtle seemed so vulnerable. Of all of the characters, I felt for his backstory the most. And I think his character arc is among the best.
