I craved a new story from ARR and was glad to get my hands on a copy of her upcoming release. While it scratched my itch, it didn’t deliver what I wanted.
I adored how Hanna and Walker met. How flustered he made her and how he was instantly into her. ARR knows how to write instant attraction. It’s what always pulls me into her books.
I guess I just felt like something was missing. I needed more of a connection between our two main characters. I wanted to know why they fell in love with each other. Was it the distance between them making it seem like they were more in love? It’s never evident how it happened and I didn’t feel it as a reader.
Along with that, I needed more of the Mayson family. Hanna lived in London for most of this book so we only got a few scenes with her parents. Lastly, we have a conflict (not between the two main characters) here that felt unnecessary and didn’t add anything to the story.
We still get the alpha male this author is known for and another book in the Until series. While I didn’t love it, it did have some good moments and I’ll look forward to another book from this author.
