How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity. Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race. Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

Okay this book.
It was good. Unfortunately, I think it suffered from "second book syndrome", which happens to a lot of books (the only second installment I've ever read that hasn't, though, is Golden Son by Pierce Brown).
Because there was a lack of movement in this book (the kids stuck at that hotel and then no one knows where Evan Walker is, there's a few new people, and a different perspective from Ringer), the plot seems to come to a standstill.
Also, all spoilers aside, the last 50 or so pages were kind of a whirl-wind of "what the fuck is going on, someone find my tablet so I can read a summary". At least for me, and after finding a summary, a lot of other people too.
I'm glad to know that Ringer is Asian. I was getting hints in the first book, but to have it confirmed made me happy. I'm sure the actress who plays her, who doesn't look Asian, will still do a very good job. No hate here.
I can't wait to see what The Last Star will be like and how the series ends. Will everyone just continue to live in dystopia?
