When my doorbell starts ringing at 3:00 a.m. on a Monday, I cover my head with a pillow and will the sound to stop. Unfortunately, my powers are in the realm of time manipulation, which isn’t very helpful right now; I’d need to get out of bed, figure out what’s happening, and find a way to prevent it, all of which sounds like way too much work. A time loop would make the situation worse, not better. The doorbell keeps ringing, though, so eventually I stop trying to block the sound with my pillow, get up, and stumble to the front door. I’ll give a piece of my mind to whichever teenagers thought that post-curfew ding-dong-ditch sounded like a good idea. Only it’s not teenagers.
