Lily wonders why she has to be so attracted to Alex. For all kinds of reasons, he is all kinds of wrong for her. She wants to go into law enforcement and Alex is the head of the local Irish mafia. He's rich and she's not. He's her brother's best friend, but that didn't save her brother's life when it came down to it. So, why oh why, do sparks fly when they are together? They have one passionate night together and then have to work together to solve a mystery, even though their goals for solving the mystery might be different. Ultimately, they both want justice, even though their definition of justice might be different. These are great characters and they act appropriately given their status and goals.
