This is a great anthology with lots of great authors. I haven’t gotten through all the stories yet but so far these stories have been great.
Magical Mischief by Laura Greenwood and LA Boruff (4 stars)
Lou has been home-schooled by her parents due to some special abilities that she needed to learn to control and hide a bit. Lou is kind of naive, and is at first overwhelmed by the “rules,” her fellow students, some unexpected popularity, when she really is more of the nerd-type, I liked seeing Lou experience the Academy and figuring out the dynamics between all the supernatural races. Lou is a bit gullible, but I liked seeing her start to get more spirit towards the end. I liked the guys too and can’t wait to see how their relationships develop.
Valkyries Chaos by Arizona Tape (4.5 stars)
Bryn is one day going to be the Queen of the East Wind. Bryn is terrifically imperfect MC. Because of her legacy, she is arrogant and hasn’t really treated others the greatest, even her friends. She makes a lot of mistakes, but she also does a lot of growing throughout this story. The ending answers some questions, but is suspenseful and leaves you needing more! I can’t wait for the next book :)
Flower Moon Rising: Lupine Hallows Academy Book 1 by Quinn Arthurs
Pixie is grieving the death of her mother. Her uncle shows up and basically evicts her, but a friend of her mothers shows up to let her know she has been accepted into an academy full of werewolves - the only problem, she is not one. She faces challenges from most of those around her, including the mean girls and the guys who are supposed to help her out. I have to say I’m hooked and need more :)
Finding Allies: Monster Academy Lesson 1 by Jaliza Burwell (5 stars)
This is a prequel to Burwell’s upcoming Monsters Academy series, and I have to say I love Adeelah. While this is seems to be an academy RH series, Adeelah is the Headmistress of the school, not a student. Adeelah comes from the powerful supernatural Neutral family, but she has a secret relating to her powers. In this prequel she is in the process of putting the finishing touches on the Academy before the doors open, but she is facing opposition from the humans, the Purity party, and some Naturals. I loved how fierce Adeelah was and how she just gets things done. The guys were a little mysterious, and while the end mentions 3 specificallly, I’m hoping a certain Councilman has a chance too.
