There were moments when I wasn't too crazy about this book but Eve quickly grew on me and I loved her. With her background and personality, all her actions made a lot of sense, even why she took so long to finally take Rory for a ride.

This book was hilariously fun to read and gave me a good look at a female alpha, really the first time I'd read a book with a female alpha's POV. Male omegas are very common in comics [manga, manhwa, manhua, ect.] but female alphas are not used as often, meaning getting a male omega and a female alpha was a rare pairing to find, from what I have seen. I've seen different descriptions for female alphas but this is the first time I've read a book with one as the main character. And I will be looking for more.

True to the title, Eve is not a good alpha. She is not wired to be a good alpha but she learns, slowly but surely. Her growth over the span of the book was really noticeable, especially with her slow acceptance of the other three alphas she had dragged into forming a pack for her omega, Adam. Though it did take her nearly dying for her to really get a chance to try with the male alphas, as time went on, it was clear she was growing quite attached, even as being around them sometimes brought back traumatic memories of her past. But she eventually gets past it, focusing on the fact that she's not with just any alpha male, she's with them and they won't hurt her. In fact, they defer to her for almost everything.

Adam is amazingly adorable. Especially after he finally let's himself enjoy having alphas around other than Eve. I did like the difference with this book where he didn't bond with all the alphas. Instead, there was one he liked and bonded with, other than Eve, and the other alphas didn't care, wanting Eve more anyway. Only two of the four alphas in the pack were active with Adam, with the other two only wanting to be with Eve, making her the center rather than the omega. It was an interesting twist to what I had read in the past with reverse harems in the omegaverse. Eve gets with everyone but the omega only gets with two of the alphas. Not sure if it's just because she's the female, as there was a peek at a pack from a previous book who were in a bit of similar situation but I'm not sure as I hadn't read that one yet, but it was still an interesting change and was kind of refreshing to not have all the alphas obsessing over the omega. Instead all the males obsessed over their lead alpha, Eve.

True to form with previous reverse harems, Rory's character stuck out to me the most. Garrett was cute with how he was a more submissive alpha and Jamie was the cool, level-headed one who Eve could stand equally with, but Rory was the one who really stuck out to me. He reminded me other other gruff guys I'd read in other reverse harems [and even better, he was tattooed too] so I guess it was natural that I liked him best. He played the role of proving to Eve that she was in charge while also making her work for it, to a degree. Garrett submitted easily and Jamie allowed her to relax so she didn't have to always be in charge. But Rory also needed Eve so that he could feel like he could take a step back too, since he had been the one leading the pack before Eve and Adam barreled into their lives. He's still that way but being with Eve, he's able to allow himself to let that go and just ... be. He's delightfully kinky [similar to Garrett] and always willing to wrestle with Eve, knowing she will play dirty and liking that about her, allowing her to do it.

I do plan on going back and reading the whole collection of Sweet Omegaverse in the future and I hope future books after this will feature this pack. I know at least one will since there is still unfinished business that will be handled in a later book and I'm looking forward to jumping into this world again at a later date. But for now, I should read the book my sister has been hounding me about that I haven't had the time to get to yet. But I know it will be a book I'll enjoy so I'm not too torn up about it.

With that, I think it's time I take a break from Omegaverse and go ride some dragons.
