It was okay. Not her best, but also not my least favourite. I liked the start, and the premise was really fun, but it was actually a bit boring in the middle.
Also, why was it never discussed or even brought up that Miles hid information from Daphne? That she had to force him to come clean before he said anything at all? I mean, mostly he was a green flag and so transparent so it felt really odd. I didn't think it fit with his personality at all. The way he behaved through most of the book compared to that really big instance was weird.
for the boring parts, I didn't think the stakes were that high. I like it to be a bit more. This was sweet, and if you want a soft and nice story with not that big mountains to pass, this is for you. But I want there to be more. Maybe not more drama. But like, she prepares for this reading thing the whole book, but it has no real impact on anything. Also, there is a countdown to when she will move, but then it is just gone.
I did like the side characters. Both the sister and the colleague was a bit much, but they were fun and I would have like the story to lean into their stories a bit more than just the love story with Miles. That's what I loved about 'Book lovers', that the sister story was a huge part of it, maybe even bigger than the love story.
