Absolutely wonderful read. The dry prose is tough but the knowledge I am siphoning out is ambrosial. It is insane to think that a certain community in the Swat Valley of Pakistan was making cave art all the way from c.1500 BC to sometime around when Islam arrived in the region. Which is even more personally intriguing since my DNA has shown a close affinity for some of the people who lived in this valley during this time span

Loved the laser focus but the absolute lack of information on the originators of the paintings made it even more fascinating albeit just as frustrating. Treat of a book.
