Never with Me

Never with Me

Kaylee Ryan

Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

A new small town best friend's older brother romance from New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author, Kaylee Ryan. Ramsey I'm out of my depth participating in a blind-date photo shoot. Not only am I meant to act like I'm open for dating, but I'm meant to be sexy and get up close and personal with a complete stranger. None of the above is me. But I'm a sucker, and my best friend can talk me into anything. Deacon is the kind of guy my heart could be safe with. But I've been taking care of myself for a long time, and I'm not sure I'm ready to rely on anyone else. Not even the handsome, successful older brother of my best friend. Deacon I never saw her coming. One date with a beautiful stranger, and I'm hooked. Technically, Ramsey isn't a stranger. She's my little sister's best friend, the same sister who volunteered me because she claims "I'm a workaholic in desperate need of love." All I know is I can't stop thinking about Ramsey and the way her lips felt against mine. I have to see her again. Good thing I'm an attorney, because convincing her to take a chance on me is going to be the hardest case I've ever pleaded. She's worried about the past repeating itself. What she's yet to figure out is that her fear is unnecessary... never with me.

This is exactly why I read Kaylee Ryan's books. She always gives low angst romance and a couple that gets together and stays together. Deacon and Ramsey were cute and definitely made for each other.

"Am I allowed to call you my girl?" he asks, a girl tilting his lips.
    "Do you want to?"
    "Damn right I do."
"Then that's what you'll call me."

This was an easy romance and they fell in love quickly and easily. The side characters were funny and I can already tell some of the parings that will be coming to us soon.

It was a good romance and a great introduction to the Kincaid series. Bless the women that fall in love with those brothers because they are a handful lol.

This was okay—a contemporary romance that reads a bit like a fairytale and a lot like a daydream. Flows mostly smoothly, though the very same story could’ve been told in fewer words as a lot of it is repeated multiple times. Overall, a decent companion for my work day, likable characters and a small town I wouldn’t mind relocating to.

    Age gap. (About a decade.)
    Best friend’s brother / sister’s best friend.
    Crime family involvement.
    Workaholic leads.
    Small town vibes.
    Abüs3 (more discussed than depicted).
    Straightforward.
    Cinnamon roll hero.

    3 stars.

    Audio:
Overall sound quality was perfect. Female narrator could sound a bit robotic at times, but overall did well. Male narrator was great. 4.5 stars.
