Recs if you like The Last Sun...

Stories featuring queer, polyam main characters! Mostly adult books, but contains some YA as well. Although the book doesn't have to have a heavy romantic focus, the polyam rep must be in the MCs, not in side characters. 🫶 (Note: some books in this list are series starters that don't contain polyamory until after the first book!)

Do you feel like you've read everything there is to read? Or get annoyed that the same books are on all the rec lists? Well, here are some more obscure masterpieces!

Some of the covers are terrible - especially among the older or self-pubbed books; there's a few YA in here; and some that are science fantasy rather than 'pure' fantasy. But trust me: they're all EXCELLENT. (And if you already love a bunch of these, let's be friends!)

I've been a fan of card magic for quite some time and tarot is so in!

Books where two (or more? if these exist I WANT THEM) characters are bound up in some way—inside each other's heads, connected by a spell, entangled by technology—the important part is the forced proximity and the element of technology or magic, or something else over the top that would not normally happen! And maybe they're in love or they fall in love as well...

Edited to add: do you KNOW how hard it was to find even five books?? I had to scroll back through my finished reads all the way to 2021! 😂 either I have Tall, dark and morally ambiguous taste, or it’s a rare trope. Either way, now starts my mission to seek them out. This will be a mix of genres, m/f m/m and possibly trigger warnings.

Found family at its finest in sci-fi and fantasy. This is one of my favourite themes and these are some of my fave reads within that group ❤️

Some books are part of a series, but only the first book is on the list, even if the family takes some time to develop beyond that.

Either historical or modern. Sometimes entirely made up.
