Once upon a time, I thought I’d found my happy ever after. Until she ruined it all. I’d been on the hunt for four long years, and I finally found her. I planned the perfect revenge. Kidnapping Rapsody on the day she was set to marry another man and forcing her to face my wrath while trapped in the confines of my family’s gothic manor. Despite my desire to punish her, there is still an undeniable pull between us. But as the walls of the manor close in around us, we both have to confront the truth. Can we trust each other, or will my dark past consume us both? SHATTERED VOWS is a dark contemporary romance that weaves together the themes of desire and redemption and is a Rapunzel reimagining with the following tropes: age gap, anti-hero, gothic romance, secret society, forced proximity, opposites attract, enemies to lovers, morality chain, billionaire, and second chance.

“My feeble attempts at keeping my feelings at bay were all for nothing because this woman fucking owns me. Always has, and always will. —Kol Voss gurgling choking gasping wheezing screaming throwing up This book is equally undeniably scorching as the last one. It might have less hotter and smuttier spicy scenes than the first book, but it doesn't take away from the thrilling feeling that this book gives me. This dark Rapunzel retelling was perfect for those seeking a second chance romance and, uhm... well, the kidnapping trope, lol😀 Having a sneak peek of Kol's story from the last book thrilled me to no end. Even if it wasn't exactly how I imagined it, I still enjoyed it. In truth, Kol—who you may think is broody, gloomy, and grumpy—is a kind and hopeless romantic who is just incredibly depressed and miserable. Seeing a strong, harsh man who suffers and is unable to control his desire to do everything to make his woman happy and safe is something I enjoy, duh. And tho, Rapsody fails to appear like a true badass and her communication errors are a little jarring, I still admire the way she creates a balance between innocence and determination. I was prepared for the revenge plot line, which was great, but I was taken aback when the real secrets were exposed and everything shifted. The last storyline twist caught me off guard. Their banter may seem to be a bit dull and rushed, I still find it entertaining, especially when we were required to read these sensational lines by Kol: “As long as Rapsody is mine, everything is right in the world. At least in my world. —Kol Voss I pretty much devoured this book too. Though I felt that the 'touch her and you die' premise was a little hollow, I still found this to be much more enjoyable than I should have. Moreover, I want to admire Muffy Newtown and Tor Thom for narrating this book. I love how they brought the characters come to life! Not to mention, the found family trope that delivers slowly within this book was excellent, and I simply can't wait to see what the author will offer us in the next two books. And since we had to get a glimpse of Nero's story from the end of this book which is making me more curious to find out what the author will bring us into. So, yes!!! I will definitely read Midnight Whispers right after this! 💥🔥
