So much Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander work gets produced as non-fiction which isn't everyone's cup of tea. If you live in Australia, most local libraries have a copy of one or two of these books so get out there and read some First Nations stories
Miles Franklin Award
"The most prestigious literary award in Australia" which has been going for 70 years, features some much beloved Aussie writers and is named for a prolific 20th century author. I've only included winners from 2007 onwards because the official website is terribly set up and I don't trust Wikipedia without another source but I'll update if I can happily confirm. Again, the longlist is always interesting, please have a look if you want more Aussie reads!!
