Layla Fae is quickly becoming one of my favorite monster romance authors. While I didn’t love this as much as Wed to the Lich, I still loved this a lot. I think Fae does a wonderful job of creating characters that feel real and lovable. Voss is probably one of my favorite MMC I’ve read, and I liked him immediately. I really wish I had a Voss of my own in my life tbqh. Alina isn’t my favorite FMC of all time, but she was layered and sympathetic. Her switch re: Voss flips a little too abruptly for me, but overall I enjoyed her narrative arc. This book had some good breeding kink and a little bit of fun primal play, and I really loved the slow burn of the romance. It also gave me a couple of new kinks, which I think is always a sign of a good erotic romance book. Definitely recommend.
