Focus on non-humans (trees, robots, animals, aliens, creatures, objects…) and empathy (especially of humans towards them, or the exploration of the empathy/feelings/thoughts of non-humans towards others). Lack of or existing empathy included.

Any book with an mc over 30, whose character arch involves themes common in coming of age stories like, questioning their upbringing or experiencing some aspect of the world/ relationships/ common experience for the first time or learning who they truly are/ what’s important to them/ being themselves authentically for the first time ect.

Books in this list are in at least two quests. Thus helping to earn more badges. Books will span different genres. Once I scan through all the quests, I plan to further organize the list. I am thinking of creating a seperate list and moving the books with three or more quests to the new list and keeping the two badge books in this list. genre fiction (SFF, romance, mystery, thriller, etc.) with disabled characters or themes, written by disabled authors.

books that feel like the moment at the end of a movie when the protagonist has been through hell and back, gets into a cab, and gazes silently out the window as she goes home. she smiles ever so slowly before the screen fades to black.
