BUT WHY IS IT ONLY 24 PAGES???

    Update after reading:
    I'M NOT SCREAMING, YOU'RE SCREAMING.

This isn't so much a Jord and Aimeric story as it is a Jord and Aimeric and origin of the Prince Guard story. And I'm glad.

I loved Jord in the original trilogy. I really enjoyed him. I thought his relationship with Aimeric was interesting, definitely. But not the first thing I'd want to read about. I did, however, love even the tiny glances we got of Damen and Laurent. I loved seeing them from Jord's point of view. (And after reading it was like, well no duh everyone thought they were screwing.)

But the best of all was 15-year-old Laurent. Laurent is perhaps my favorite literary character ever. So seeing how he was then, very much the same, but also different. It was amazing.

But okay, where is The Summer Palace. I NEED it. Immediately.
