Daddy Crush

Daddy Crush

Adriana Anders

Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Crushing hard… I’m about to have my first kiss and I feel absolutely nothing. No excitement, no flutters, not even a glimmer of curiosity. That all changes when my bossy neighbor steps in and shows me how it’s done, just this once. But when the kiss that sets me on fire ends, it’s not enough. I want more. I want it all. And I want him to be the one. On the wrong kind of man. I’m bossy, possessive, dirty-talking, and twice her age. Kissing my cute, innocent neighbor is a terrible idea—especially when kissing turns into more. One taste of her sweet lips might not be enough. Once I touch her, there’s no going back. Once I've had her, she’s mine.

  • does it pass the knitter's test?

No, as a knitter myself, I find Genesis's knitted art incomprehensible. In fact, it really seems the Genesis was a painter in an earlier draft, and that was changed, but not in every instance when it was referred to.

This book was not exactly what I was expecting. I knew I’d enjoy it as this author has not let me down yet. After reading her book Kink Camp: Hunted, along with the title of this story, I knew it would be steamy. I did not realize it would be so heartfelt and touching. I should have. Honestly, all of her books I’ve read so far have great character development and depth.

This is a sort of coming of age for Jerusha. For Karl, it’s an opportunity for him to take a look at his life so far and decide if he’s on the right road. Not for his daughter, not for his ex-wife, but for himself. What will make him happy and content? I appreciate that Karl has his reservations about being attracted to a woman who is still quite young and, in fact, not much older than his daughter. He doesn’t just jump in and shoot his shot, even once he knows the interest is reciprocated. He holds back, wanting Jerusha to be happy in the long term. Karl doesn’t feel he’s the guy to give her a happily ever after, only a happy for now. Problem is, he never thinks to ask Jerusha what she wants.

I love how brave and independent Jerusha is, especially when it comes to her sexuality. There are many things she does not know yet, but she’s open-minded and eager to learn. Yet, she’s also discerning and is not going to jump into bed with just anyone. She knows herself well enough to know what she wants and needs, if she’s not feeling it she’s not going to go through the motions just to get things done. Jerusha wants fire and chemistry, she wants Karl.

Karl and Jerusha have wonderful chemistry. Whether they are sharing a simple kiss or heavy petting, they set the page on fire long before they actually complete their mission. They bring out a side of each other that nobody else ever has and it’s beautiful and fun to see.
