Recs if you like Once Was Willem...

Ancient horrors and creepy castles - creating a list of books that have been recommend, read, or heard of that contain the theme of medieval horror. Some books are religious based, please check all CWs before reading! (Contact me if something is listed incorrectly!)

Going back to the Dark Ages with all the horror and death they experienced. A comprehensive list including popular selections along with lesser known works to evoke the Olde Age scares.

(I try to update this list all any time I run across new ones!)

angels, demons, monks, plague, puss, flesh, fear, fire,

fantasy/scifi/whatever that does something I find exciting and at least a bit unfamiliar (in various age categories). Doesn’t need to be a perfect story, just one that takes a stab in an interesting direction.
