I received an ARC for an honest review.

Ava is back at home to focus on running her father’s business since his health took a turn. She always had a thing for her brothers best friend but never acted on it. Barrett works as a lawyer in Chicago and is back in town for a visit. He has always liked Ava but cares about his friendship with Nick so much that even though he wants Ava, he tries to keep his distance.

Sounds like a classic best friends brother romance right? It was it was cute and had its sexy times. So you’re probably wondering why I only rated it 3 stars? I couldn’t rate it any higher because there was no relationship between these two, only sex. Well in my opinion.

I get that they have known each other since they were young, but they have grown up. Barrett moved to Chicago and was working as a lawyer and Ava just left her life in the city to come home and take over her father's business. People change over time and I wish they would have spent more time getting to know each other as much as they did sucking face.

The sex scenes between them were great, the sexual tension was fun to read about. I also really enjoyed the banter between these two.

All in all, it wasn’t my favorite from this author, I just wanted so much from this one. I will be waiting for Mister Tonight in June.

Ava and Barrett. Kind of a slow and predictable start. Kind of a predictable ending. But pretty good in the middle.

Barrett finds himself very attracted to his best friends little sister. He had been for awhile. And "bro code" prohibits him from acting on it. Until she becomes too irresistible to him. Ava also has been crushing on her older brother's best friend for awhile. And she is finally able to act on it when the two find themselves at her father's retirement party weekend together. They spend a lot of time trying to deny the feelings between them, but eventually act on them. As you would expect, they must hide what's happening and sneak around under everyone's noses. And when his weekend is over and he has to return back to his life in the city, they find they still can't fight the attraction. But a situation arises that threatens to blow them apart. If I had been paying closer attention, I would have seen it coming a mile away.

The situation gets resolved in pretty much the way you'd expect. Except now, I'm not sure it was satisfying. There was some pretty backstabby stuff happening and I'm not sure I would have been as forgiving.

Nevertheless, these two crazy kids get their HEA and things work out. Overall, an interesting read. Like I said, kind of slow at first, but things picked up and got pretty steamy between the two. They made a good pair and in the end, made the right decisions for all.

Cute story. I wasn't sure where it was going, but i enjoyed it.
