"Place as character" is usually reserved for lush descriptions that bring environments to life, and less often used for environments that have a life of their own. This list includes houses, homes, castles, spaceships, anywhere people will spend time and call home. Not meant to include haunted houses, but a case could be argued for specific ones. c:

Buildings that have strong opinions, rearrange floor plans or don't stay where you left them.

Low(ish) stakes, cozy worldbuilding, mostly loveable characters, and almost always a happy ending–whether it's with dragons or starships, these books are the ultimate warm hug of escapism. Pairing with your favorite warm beverage is highly recommended.

Light cozy fantasy for when you need a pick me up

Stories that take place in or around a house, whether literal or abstract. Any genre welcome! 🏠

(to avoid hoarding my tbr/interested) cool/sophisticated books under or around ~320pgs that i wanna or have read. may be some exceptions.
