Echo Adler hates Reign Davidson. He’s the reason the love of her life left her all alone and broken hearted two years ago. So it should be easy to stay away. It should be easy to not dream about his dark and mean eyes, or his cruel but sexy smirks. It should be easy to not think about the guy who ruined her happily ever after. Only it’s not. Sometimes his intense stares make her heart race, and those smirks of his make her breathless. But it needs to stop. Because she has a mission: to get back together with her ex-boyfriend. And Echo will be damned if she keeps dreaming about Reign. The guy who not only makes her sick with hate but who also happens to be her ex’s best friend.

This book is long, but you'd never know it because the story pulls you, grabs hold of you, keeps you enthralled and never let's go! From the moment that Echo meets Reign, there's something there, a spark, a connection. She is not even a teenager and far from worldly; he's the temptation of something darker, but he's always there at the periphery of her consciousness. At that point, she is light and he is dark. Eventually, we'll find out that no one is either all good or all bad -- circumstances sometimes make it appear that way.

Then there's the best friend fell for her angst. I mean, that's some next level possessiveness, but I don't think that either of them are initially aware Reign really was claiming Echo (forever) when he ruined her relationship with Lucas. Well, maybe Reign knew what he was doing, but I don't think he was honest with himself about why. All of this punctuated by diary entries where they are both honest, raw, true to themselves and their feelings for each other. I loved (and hated) every angsty, sexually frustrated page!
