Books with obsessive and/or codependent queer relationships (relationship doesn't have to be canon but the vibes™ should be there)

Creepy books made better because there are queer characters

ownvoices books across genres by queer men/masc authors that feature queer men as main characters

disclaimer: this is all just based on my own research and may not always be 100% accurate to the author’s identity - feel free to comment any edits or suggestions!

reading diversely is not a trend. it’s the bare minimum. and if your shelves don’t reflect that, you’re missing out.

codependent yaoi/yuri/queer situationships, friendship or relationships 💔 some may be toxic. open to suggestions especially sapphic ones

A mix of different books that all centre around the “dark academia” genre ✨

Homophobia is scary, and not in the spooky movie haunted house kind of way, so to take our minds off of the horror of real life, I present the horror of fiction! I want to read about us running our asses away, final girling it to the end, and taking down the true enemy, capitalism! Erm, I mean, ghosts!

Notes in the margins are a must. — Me, a neurotic literature degree holder

Did you know there's more to Jewish fiction than WWII books? Suggestions welcome as long as they aren't zionist propaganda 🇵🇸

This list has a mix of all types of horror novels by LGBTQIA+ authors.

Healthy, mutually respectful relationships. JK, picture the exact opposite of that and then throw in three cups of lyrical, haunting bleakness.

You’re sitting in a library lit by candlelight, it’s dark outside, the power is off and the boiler broken - so there’s a chill in the air, softened only by the flame from the candle you’re using to study. That’s when you hear it. A ghostly moan, loud enough to send shivers down your spine, but quiet enough that you can’t make out what the voice is saying at first.

The presence you feel comes closer, and that’s when you hear it.

“You’re gaaaaaaaaaaaay.”

Uh Oh! Friend Clearly Not the Victim in Drama Being Described! (Suggestions welcome!)

These books have lgbt+ representation in them even if sometimes it's not the main focus or the leading couple. It's important to me to have a list that has variety and of not just stories about love but also those exploring gender identity and about those who don't experience love the same way like asexuals and aromatics. So far thare's a lot of sapphic books as well as quite a few books w/transgender mc's.

This is a list of books that are more psychological horrors/horrifying where we see how horrible humans really are

Books where obsession and power dynamics are central themes.

i love a good toxic obsessive queer relationship <33

most of these are horror and/or thriller.

these are ones i’ve read and also ones that have been suggested. feel free to leave any suggestions !!
