Recs if you like The Mistress of Spices...

A list with (your!) recs ✍🏻📚, because i am tired of searching on social media and finding nothing. We have to solve that.

Fantasy where plants, herbs, forests and green places aren’t just set dressing: they drive character choices, magic systems and plot. Expect hedgewitches and apothecaries, sentient woods and green men, tea alchemists, orchard bargains and kitchen gardens that meddle in human affairs. The tone ranges from cozy cottagecore to gently thorny fairytales sprinkled in. If you crave stories that smell like rain on soil and sound like wind in leaves, start here!

Do you feel like you've read everything there is to read? Or get annoyed that the same books are on all the rec lists? Well, here are some more obscure masterpieces!

Some of the covers are terrible - especially among the older or self-pubbed books; there's a few YA in here; and some that are science fantasy rather than 'pure' fantasy. But trust me: they're all EXCELLENT. (And if you already love a bunch of these, let's be friends!)

Is the main character a magical chef, a warrior cook or techno gourmet? Then they belong on this list. Bonus points if they have recipes included!
