Recs if you like The Ghost Woods...

This is a list of Mushroomcore related books! We have everything from horror, to cozy and fantasy/sci-fi. This is the era of Spontasy (Fantasy), Spomance (Romance) and other genres too. Essentially it's time for the mushroom goblins to take over the world

the title pretty much says it all, fic + nonfic featuring mushrooms and fungus!

Horror books featuring sapphic characters and relationships!

all things fungal horror ❤︎ there are a few mushroom and cottagegore lists around, but i wanted to make a comprehensive guide to the genre! suggestions welcome :)

The horrors that haunt the woods

Cozy, Horror, Mystery, Adventure, Romance. As long as the book has shrooms as a major plot point, there is a place for it in this list.

What if mushrooms were sentient and hangry?

books with botanical horror themes, inspired by the botanical horror quest and don't let the forest in!

Shhh it's okay, just let the plants inside

Bog women, decomposition, rot (Also let me know ones to add - I'd love some recs)

Speculative works that form part of what I've called the "the fungal imaginary" in an academic context

The fungus walks among us

I love mushroom-related horror, and these are all the books I have found that use spores, fungus, or mushrooms as the antithesis of the book's horror.

one day i will write a dissertation on this i swear….

Some recommendations for delving into Celtic mythology and fantasy inspired by Irish, Welsh and Scottish history.

This is a list of horror books written by women, as recommended by Sadie Hartmann (Mother Horror) in her book Feral and Hysterical. I highly recommend that you pick up a copy of Feral and Hysterical because it is so much more than a list of books. There are more lists of books, but also thoughtful essays by women writers. It's worth spending some time with Feral and Hysterical.

"Women are overqualified to write fictional horror. Period." -- Sadie Hartmann
