Rule No. 6: Don't sleep with your brothers' best friend. Silas Sharpe is enemy number one—my biggest competitor and my brothers’ best friend. Seeing an opportunity to “spy” on the offerings at Chesapeake Resort under the guise of attending a “friend’s” wedding, I took it, dragging my best friend and my brother with me. When Silas cornered me in a utility closet during the wedding reception, I finally succumbed to the years of pent-up frustration and hate, giving in to my baser instincts. This was supposed to be a onetime thing, but in true Silas Sharpe fashion, he refused to give up until he had the one thing that had eluded him for years—me. He played the game well, offering me a chance to plan a high-end wedding at his resort—something I’d always wanted. But I refused to trust in the relationship growing between us, knowing that, as my competitor, Silas would capitalize on any moment of weakness, leaving me to pick up the pieces. As time went on, Silas showed me that I could relinquish a little of the control I’d held on to for so long. That there was more to life than just work. But what happens if I let go? If I’m not careful, I’ll lose more than just my business to Silas. I’ll lose myself, too.

OMG, this book is so hot, I think I have burns on my fingers from holding my Kindle! I have seriously been anticipating Silas and Gia's story and it did not disappoint. They have been "frenemies" for a while considering she has considered him the competition but he's also her brother's best friend. Their snark is on point and extra-snarky at time. The thing is, Silas is tired of fighting and knows what he wants: Gia. So he thinks he's won when he finally gets her to give in, but she puts her walls back up and tells him that one time is all there ever is going to be. He is just as stubborn and sets out to prove to her how good they can be together. It's a good thing Silas is in for the long haul, because Gia is not going to give in easily.
I have loved all of the characters in this series and these two especially have a place in my heart. They are smart, sassy and sexy. I knew where they were headed, so watching it happen? Priceless! I loved that once he was in, Silas was ALL IN and he was going to do whatever it took to convince Gia of it too. She was stubborn, and yes, sometimes ridiculous, but part of it is also she wasn't going to settle. She knew she wanted THE ONE and she wasn't initally convinced that Silas was that. Gia knew herself and she wanted everything.
