Queer Biographies, Autobiographies, and Memoirs
May 16th is National Biographer's Day, commemorating the work of people who write about... people! We've picked out a whole pile of our favorite biographies, autobiographies, and memoirs by and about queer folks to celebrate the occasion. (This list is presented by Duck Prints Press, the indie publisher focused on publishing queer art and stories by queer creators! A group of us collaborate to make these recommendations.)

Stonewall: Israel Fishman Nonfiction Award
The first and most enduring award for LGBTQIA+ books is the Stonewall Book Awards, sponsored by the American Library Association's Rainbow Round Table. Since Isabel Miller's Patience and Sarah received the first award in 1971, many other books have been honored for exceptional merit relating to the LGBTQIA+ experience.
The Stonewall Book Award-Israel Fishman Non-Fiction Award are presented to English language works published the year prior to the announcement date. (from ala.org)
