Recs if you like October, October...

Amazing books that standalone! This list is made up of books that don’t have sequels, aren’t part of series, just single books that can be read and enjoyed in one go! I’m open to any suggestions about books from any genre!

The Carnegie's are the United Kingdom's major children's book awards. There are awards for both writing and illustration. This list is for the Carnegie Medal for Writing, which is chosen by children's librarians for exceptional books written in English for children and young people. The medals are awarded by CILIP and the Youth Libraries Group. The mission statement: "To champion librarians to inspire and empower the next generation to create a better world through books and reading."

Sometimes, as an old, bitter crone, you just need a good cry. These books get you there.

Stories of characters who find freedom/adventure outside of their four walls 🌷 🌼 🧭 🌏 🍄🍃 All suggestions welcome 😁💯

Books for my favourite season of all! These books contain themes of derailment and delusion, transitional periods, a slow descent into darkness or obscurity, the taboo and the monstrous, autumnal aesthetics, turning inward, a slowing down, or a midpoint between life and death.
