Recs if you like Renegades...
the rainbow list
this is for aesthetics only
booktube throwback
the staples of the book community on youtube in the early to mid 2010s.
I can't remember the title, but the cover is blue
Ah yes, this ol' issue that has plagued librarians and bookstore clerks for decades.
And sometimes you find the right book, but... can you even call that shade blue?
Unpopular but gooood YA fantasy!
that are actually incredible and completely slept on
also I use fantasy lightly, there's some dystopian and sci-fi in here too :)
it's a bird, it's a plane, it's a new book to read!
superhero & supervillain stories!
(trying to highlight those outside of marvel, dc, and the other major franchises)
dystopian & dystopian fantasy
"an imagined world or society in which there is great suffering or injustice, typically one that is totalitarian or post-apocalyptic. many of the people lead dehumanized and fearful lives"
Non-element-based magic
Fantasy books where the elements are not the primary source for their magic/superpowers.
Triple Threat (Fantasy Trilogies)
All good things come in 3s
With great power… 💥
Since comics can be a bit overwhelming to break into, I present a collection of (mostly) graphic novels to satisfy your superhero kick.
Mostly Marvel & DC properties, but open to other superhero (or villains) as well
I don’t have friends, I have family
Channeling my inner Dom Toretto. Whoever said you can’t choose your family never experienced the joy of the found family trope!
Books with friendships so strong, they might as well be family. Some fun, some bittersweet, some toxic.
This list is incomplete, I’ve just added books that I have read and know are found family so please please please give me recommendations!
Contemplating good vs evil
How do you go about defining good and bad and morality
A mix of fiction and nonfiction to make you broaden your perspective or maybe just contemplate your definition of evil and righteous.
Suggested additions are welcome in the comments. I will do my own research before adding them.
THE books of YA that one should not avoid (ft: some adult fantasys and a holly jackson adult novel)
yeah these are just books i really liked okay (the thrashers is like an honorable mention..not on the same level of peak as the rest but good enough to make it)
friendly neighborhood superhero book recs
A criminally underrated subgenre (someone assemble the Avengers to right this wrong), these superhero books are as action-packed and engaging as any Marvel or DC movie
A Crowd-Sourced List of Comfort Reads
PageBound users have mentioned these titles as books/series they gravitate towards during rough times. Some are here because readers enjoyed them during childhood and go back to that for a sense of calm, while others just give general cozy vibes.
✨YA Starter Kit✨
If you're someone like me, who doesn't love reading Adult books, these are a list of my favourites, both popular and not, for you to enjoy!
The More the Meyer
Marissa Meyer books, NOT Stephanie Meyer
Already injected into my bloodstream
Typically, I will only add the first in a series if I loved them all. if it's out of order, then it only applies to that specific one :)
Fun, Fat, Fantasy
Fantasy Books that are over 500 pages. Some are in a series, some are not!
Teenage Heroics
YA books set in worlds with superheroes and villains
(Not including anything related to Marvel or DC)
Fantasy Romance + Romantasy
Fantasy Romance and Romantasy are two different genres, but I enjoy them all the same. This list is full of books from both genres, ranging from YA to extra spicy. Recommendations always welcome!
