Queer sci-fi 💫 (Not always in space, I think I've covered most sci-fi subgenres)

A book list celebrating novels with bold flat illustrated covers. I'm talking colourful, graphic, design-forward books that look beautiful on your shelf and would inspire any designer. All genres welcome but let's stick with YA to adult books.

Do you feel like you've read everything there is to read? Or get annoyed that the same books are on all the rec lists? Well, here are some more obscure masterpieces!

Some of the covers are terrible - especially among the older or self-pubbed books; there's a few YA in here; and some that are science fantasy rather than 'pure' sci fi. But trust me: they're all EXCELLENT. (And if you already love a bunch of these, let's be friends!)

Haenyeo (also spelled haenyo) (Hangul: 해녀; lit. "sea women") are female divers in the South Korean province of Jeju, whose livelihood consists of harvesting a variety of mollusks, seaweed, and other sea life from the ocean. I really wanted to try and have some of the books I read be intentional choosing. I tend to be a mood reader, and I tend to heavily binge series. I have a Libro.fm account, and decided it was time to try their challenge. I'm trying to be outside my comfort zone with some of these, as well as break the rules a smidge and include some physical books I have had on my TBR a while.
