Antonio Nuñez has made the stupidest mistake known to man. He fell in love at first sight. Even worse? Nikki McClane, the woman with his heart in the palm of her hands, is his little sister’s best friend. And the morning after their magical New Year’s Eve kiss, she claims to have no recollection of their night together. So for the past seven years, Antonio has had a front-row seat to Nikki’s string of failed relationships. You know, the ones she actually remembers. But he’s made it a point to be a thorn in her side. He taunts, teases, and infuriates her any chance he gets. He just can’t help himself. So when the opportunity arises, Antonio decides to show Nikki a side of him that she’ll never forget. Nikki McClane has been unsuccessful in love… again. Fresh off of a break-up, she could really use a vacation. So when her best friend offers her a week at a luxury resort in the Dominican Republic, she jumps at the chance. The catch? Her best friend’s older brother will be joining her. If only Antonio’s personality matched his godlike physique… minus the permanent scowl on his face, that is. But that’s what she deserves after lying to him—and herself—for the past seven years. Because she remembers what happened the night she met Antonio. She remembers it all too well.

Seven years ago, Antonio and Nikki met at a New Years Eve party. It was love at first sight. But when Nikki discovers Antonio is her best friends brother, she lies. She lies and claims she doesn’t remember that night. Seven years later, thanks to Amelia and Evan, they find themselves on an excursion to the Dominican Republic, and neither can stop remembering that one night
Such an amazingly cute book! I really love all the aspects and tropes this book touches on. One bed, forced proximity, love at first sight, best friends brother, found family, the list goes on. Antonio and Nikki are the perfect characters for all of these things. Even when pretending to despise each other, they had so much chemistry. Millie also has a wonderful way of discussing serious/important topics like mental health and therapy, grief, and struggles faced by immigrants in the US.
Before I read this, I made sure to read Millie Perez’s first book, You Never Forget Your First. I ate that book up, was smiling like crazy the entire time, just loved it! But this book really had me hooked. I’m talking laughing out loud and smiling nonstop. It was so interesting and inspiring to see her growth as an author between the two.
I want to thank Millie Perez for the chance to read and review an early copy of this book! I am so thankful for the opportunity and am really excited to see what else she comes out with! All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
