Zingis, a tragedy by Alexander Dow, as it is performed at the Theatre-Royal in Drury-Lane. Dow was a native of Crieff, Perthshire. Hi's father worked at the Customs at Dunbar. The younger Dow was educated in Dunbar for a time, and, in conjunction with his father's job, this would suggest that he lived in the area for a time. Dow was in the process of being educated for a mercantile career in Eyemouth, when he abruptly left aboard the King of Prussia as a Midshipman. The reason for this turn of events is not known, but one reason posited for this was that he was involved in a fatal duel.[3] Dow then worked his way to Bencoolen. Characters felt a bit flat. The internal politics were super fun tho especially how the characters all had their own political aims and were tied in a web of loyalties and familial ties. I also liked the protagonist was clearly shown to be weakened by his filial piety as his conviction in opposing his father(Genghis Khan) would falter in the moment of need and then return after the fact until he no longer got a second chance.
