As a wedding photographer, I get to witness the magic, the romance, and the fairy tale without getting close enough for it to ever sting me again. Until Nick. I broke my number one rule and slept with the best man. How could I resist his sexy good looks and the seductive offer of one night with no strings attached? Except he broke the rules by asking me to stay. So, I left without leaving a note or my number, sure I'd never see him again. Until he moves to the same town to take care of his nephew, after his dead-beat dad goes to jail. Suddenly he’s everywhere: the town’s harvest festival, playing arcade games at the pizzeria, and coaching my son’s baseball team The worst part? I can't get him off my mind. But I won’t allow myself to fall in love again. Instead, I make a new offer: friends-with-benefits. It's the perfect solution. Until I realize he wants more.

Abby is a wedding photographer. One night at a wedding, she catches the eye of the best man. He watches her all night until he gets a chance to approach her. His name is Nick and they have one night together. Abby sneaks out and they both think it was nice that they have their memories of that night, but that's all it will ever be. Some months later, Abby takes her son to baseball practice and meets the new coach. That new coach is Nick. He has returned to his hometown to care for his nephew because his brother has been arrested and will likely be spending a lot of time in jail. Abby and Nick spend more time together because of the boys and she suggests a friends with benefits situation. Soon, though, there are bigger feelings involved. But Nick isn't sure he's staying in town and Abby doesn't feel that she can trust herself to make good choices where her heart is involved. When they get carried away one time and Abby ends up pregnant, can she trust that Nick will stay by her side?
I loved both of these characters and understood completely their reluctance to get involved in a serious relationship. I think Nick accepted what was going to happen a lot sooner than he admitted it to himself; his heart knew before his head did. After he found out about the baby, he was all in. Abby had learned the hard way to not trust, but Nick showed her every day that she could trust him.
