This volume is the second in a series of four which treat various aspects of the labor movement in Maine in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The history of organized labor in Maine has been largely ignored by the State's historians. This volume represents an effort to correct this deficiency and to add to a more complete understanding of the forces, events, and personalities that have shaped Maine's history.
