OH MY HEART BREAK. Have you guys ever experienced those moments where you KNOW the ending of the book is coming & you know what will happen (or at least have a general idea of it), but then once it actually comes, it HITS you so hard in the feels? And the way the events actually end up developing ends up hurting really bad? This was me with the ending of this book. Did I love it, pain, heartbreak & all? Absolutely. And let me just say that Kristin truly did something specialist with this series. The magical world she created & brings you into is truly an intriguing one, which has you wanting to jump into it through the pages of the book.
Now let me start off with Fenity because she is THAT girl. I went through this book journey supporting every single thing she did & said. The way she was unapologetically herself & knew her worth, especially when surrounded by those who would claim she is less than, is admirable. Her unwavering strength throughout every single trial she went through & endured, regardless of the immeasurable odds & endless obstacles in her path, make her a character you just root for wholeheartedly. And she is a fighter, a warrior, & I don't mean it in the usual physical way. I mean it emotionally & mentally. A fighter for what she believes, for those she loves & for the life & love she deserves. I cannot wait to continue with her story.
Prince Renic, I am excited to see how his story progresses & the growth his character will have. There were definitely moments his character had me SWOONING & twirling my hair. The things he would say to Fenity have the power to melt your heart. You could see his character was not one without conflict. He is a character split between what he knows or thought he knew was “best” for him & his kingdom, and then what he realized is truly what he wants & needs & is best for him. That struggle could truly be felt throughout the story.
The moments between Prince Renic & Fenity were romantic & dreamy. The affection & love for one another could be felt deeply, which made the forbidden aspect of their romance that much more heart wrenching. And I mean it when I say I’m fully invested in their story & already NEED to know more.
The development of the overall plot also had me at the edge of my seat & the way it connected with the prophecy mentioned. The side characters involved had me feeling all types of emotions, from happiness, to anger, to feeling really to go to battle alongside Fenity. So, to summarize, I 100% recommend this book & series!
