The fifth novel in the bestselling and award winning Graceling Realm series focuses on Hava, Queen Bitterblue's spy, and her harrowing journey back to Monsea after the events of 2021's Winterkeep. In the immediate aftermath of the events of Winterkeep, Bitterblue and her entourage begin the journey back to Monsea with the only copies of the formulas for the zilphium weapon. Bitterblue must decide what she will do with her world-shaping power. But before they've even made it halfway home, storms drive their ship off course and then wrecking them in the ice far north of the Royal Continent. The survivors must make a harrowing trek across the ice in order to make it back to Monsea. Seasparrow is told entirely from the point of view of Hava, Bitterblue's personal spy and secret half-sister. And while Bitterblue grapples with how to carry the responsibility of a weapon of mass destruction, Hava must decide what she will do with herself in the new world Bitterblue will make.

Welcome to book 5 of a series that really didn't need an extension but this time there are polar bears hunting them!
This is a technically third book which is odd from this series since the first 3 are all different characters until this and the previous book which are continuations of Bitterblues story. This one however is about Hava, Bitterblues sister. We follow the immediate action of Book 4 and are now on the ocean sailing back to their homeland. It's greatly suggested you review the stuff that happens in the last book but u could probably slide by with a vague memory.
For being over 600 pages, this book really had nothing happening. The best thing that happens is the inevitable shipwreck but that arc ends at around 75% and we are left with the most unsatisfactory and conflict less ending ever. This was made for the true fans only and wasn't needed.
Also, Hava is so autistic coded. Other reviewers said they hated how selfish she is and how she lacks understanding but Hava acts just how someone with autistic tendencies would act. Needing extra directions, not understanding social cues, being stubborn and not wanting change. The list goes on but I just loved how her character was written and really felt her character was meant to be like this.
