Thank you to Edelweiss, Sue Lynn Tan, and Little, Brown Books for Young Readers for the E-ARC! Sue Lynn Tan spins a magical story that although is inspired by Cinderella is entirely it's own thing. This is the first book I've read by Sue Lynn Tan and it most certainly won't be the last. The author does a phenomenal job of crafting this world, making sure you aren't info-dumped but also not leaving you in the dark. With magics, intriguing strangers, a talking carp, and a stunning Prince, there's so much to this story. I loved exploring the different parts of the main character, Yining's, life, from her normal everyday to the magics presented to her. It's hard not to feel for her and want her to succeed when so much is against her. If you're looking for a magical and breathtaking fantasy world, I recommend you pick this up upon release!
