Stable by David R. Surette collects forty-two poems both new and selected from his other collections that feature animals. Surette writes poetry about pets in his Malden, Massachusetts neighborhood of the 60’s and 70’s and raising his own children there in the 80’s and 90’s. He finds inspiration in Easton, Massachusetts where they kept horses, sheep, alpacas, goats, and dogs. Winner of an Honors Book award in the Massachusetts Book Awards 2016.
