cozy fantasy reads

Books full of magic and whimsy and fantastical adventures, but still cozy and make you feel warm and fuzzy! Please comment if you have suggestions!

Found family but specifically parent and child relationships (not sure why I love this so much but it’s underrated)

MC has a job; can they get it done?

This isn’t just “weird girl lit,” it’s weird girl books with a MESSAGE. with something to say and doing it in a weird way!! No shame to the angry woman weird girl books but that ain’t what I’m talking about. I’m talking space, magical realism, weird kinks as metaphors. I’m talking new takes on the form, books that do things differently. If you know, you know. These are some of my favorite types of books and nearly everything on this list I’ve read and loved.

This is a list of books that at least one person thinks you should read. A book that, no matter who you are, is worth giving a try. Out there in the world, this is someone's favourite book. They wish absolutely everyone they know would sit down and read it. Will you give any of these a chance? The books chosen for this list are members of the community, as well as my coworkers at the bookstore I work at.

Exciting books releasing in August of 2025!
