book adaptations announced for 2026-27
The book girlies are seeing their favourite characters on screen this year so if you didn’t know or want to be ahead of the game and prep, this list is here. This list includes tv adaptations and movies so if you’re curious make sure to see if it’s streaming or theatre release. These have been announced to be in production but some don’t have a set date for release so don’t hate me if they don’t come out by 2027 😆
P.s. I’m including books whose adaptations already came out this year so far

the government wouldn’t do that…
and remember kids: the next time that somebody tells you “the government wouldn’t do that”, OH YES THEY WOULD

There is no outside
Books featuring enclosed and dark settings. Claustrophobic much?

It's the End of the World!
Apocolyptic fiction for all the readers opting to trade our dystopia for a different one. Typically jam-packed full of zombies, and fallout, and viruses, oh my!

Take Me Back to the Wasteland
Books with similar themes to the Fallout series: critiquing rampant American consumerism and greed; deconstructing 1950s-era conservatism; post-apocalyptic road trip; man vs. God; long-term effects of authoritarianism; morally gray choices or “morally gray” choices; being locked inside underground (or in space) indefinitely; retro-futuristic technology; nuclear weapons and fallout; cosmic horror; or, ultimately, being the baddest motherfucker with a baseball bat.

Dystopian Books
I am super into dystopian books so I’m just compiling a list of a bunch of them so I can read them and keep track! Only showing the first book of a series. (Suggestions welcome).

Sci-fi for space haters
At Nohara66's request, scfi books "without space and physics!" (Or as close as can be). Some of these do feature spaceships in the background or as a step from point A to B, or set within galactic empires, or once colonised worlds, but involve no physics and don't focus on life/travel in space.
