To save the only mother I’ve ever known, all I have to do is hack a tech billionaire. My foster mother is sick. The woman who gave me a home, love, a life. I’ll do anything to find the money for her surgery, including using my skills as a hacker. My name’s Remi, also known as Rogue Angel, and usually I work for a security company testing clients’ systems. But now a shadowy bad guy has tracked me down and given me an ultimatum. I have to hack Rivera Tech—the biggest technology company in the world, owned by billionaire CEO, Maverick Rivera. If I do, I get paid and I can help my foster mother. If I don’t, my family is in danger. Hacking Rivera is no walk in the park, and soon I find myself in a tantalizing game of cat and mouse with big, grumpy, and way-too-sexy Maverick. What I never, ever expected was for him to make me feel safe, or to threaten my closely-guarded heart, or to ignite every single part of me. I can’t drag him into my mess. But Maverick has other ideas, and he isn’t a man who takes no for an answer. Each book in the Billionaire Heists Trilogy can be read as a stand-alone, action-packed romance.

This one had a bit of a rocky start for me. But the end was amazing.
Like with the other two books in the series, a woman is forced to do something bad to one of the billionaires for the sake of a loved one. In this one Remi is forced to hack into one of Mav’s computer systems to steal a file to get money to pay for her foster mothers brain surgery. In the process, she in Mav all for each other. Like with the other two books in the series, Mav almost immediately falls for Remi. Except Mav had been hurt in the past by a woman and was really anti-relationship. He was the brooding grumpy one. Remi changed all that.
So here’s my thing. The change in Mav happens almost immediately. He spent the first two books being just grumpy and surrounding all the time. But Remi almost immediately started to get to him and make him smile. He was on was a different person I was too quickly. I would’ve liked to see him eventually start to open up to her. Not immediately take to her.
Another thing is the situation that Remi finds herself in that makes her hack Mav. It was a bit contrived and not quite as understandable is in the first book. I get that her foster mother needed an expensive surgery, but she immediately jumped to illegal hacking and theft as her only option.
But in the end, Mav and Remi made a good team. The ending was exciting and action packed. And it leads in perfectly to the next Norcross book.
