There are many things that go bump in the night, and I am one of them. As a vampyr who was born to fulfill a prophecy, my life was planned before I was created. I obeyed every rule, and I became the perfect vampyr, but one night changed everything. Rejected by the man who was destined for me, who was supposed to love me forever, I do the only thing I can, I flee… Into the night, nursing my broken heart. Being a rejected mate corrupts the soul, however, and in this game of Courts and Kings, nobody wins. Nobody except the monsters in the shadows. The monsters that save me, welcome me, and make me one of them. Welcome to the Court of Nightmares, where all your wicked dreams come true.

I do not even know where to begin with my disdain for this book.
First, we have a story that had promise, I mean who doesn't love vampires? But a female vampire who has not 1, not 2, not 3 love interests but 7 just is too much. Then we have the entire beastiality aspect, and yes I'm sorry but being screwed by a spider leg is just wrong, add in the knotting mention and it makes me question why I bothered.
This book literally had more smut sexual content than it did the story. I think it was every other page or so that they resorted to sex scenes that just made me roll my eyes. Add in that they were disgustingly repetitive, I mean seriously how often did she need to scream her release? By 60% I was skipping over sex scenes because they went from sex, to kink, to worrisome in a heartbeat.
The character creation was sadly lacking, all the men seemed to blend into one, which I suppose is why she needed 7 of them all with their own kinks and freaky acts.
I will say one thing, I truly wish that the author had not written the sex scene with the spider. I can never unsee that, and I mean seriously he broke his leg off inside her to use as a dildo while he had sex with her ass. I can't ever unsee that in my head now, and just typing this gives me the heebie-jeebies.
And the ending I was literally sitting here saying why the hell did I bother reading to the end for that?
I have to say if the author had just written the story without the smut it would have been a decent story that would have not only kept my interest but I would have enjoyed it, she could have enhanced the ending by leaving out the smut.
I don't think I'll read another book by this author after reading this one since judging by this one and the repetitive sexual antics of men who have enormous penises, gorgeous bodies, and money to burn it's just another same ole same ole. I'd to know just how large she thinks the vagina is because a penis that reaches the knees sure as heck isn't fitting into a vagina, yet he bottoms out in her.
So in my opinion...don't bother unless you are one of those people who like taboo sex, semi-bestiality, and violent sexual acts, and want to get your freak on with little to show for it at the end since the story is lacking.
