Rebecca Zanetti has blown me away again. I could not put this book down! Well, I didn’t want to put this book down. Alas, real life kept interrupting my reading time. Regardless, this story is amazing and hooked me from the start.

The connection between Laney and Matt is obvious from the very moment they lay eyes on each other. Once they’re actually within touching distance to each other, the chemistry jumps off the pages. Matt’s need to protect his brothers that has been with him his whole life has usually meant that other people fell by the wayside. His protective instincts with Laney show that she’s different for him. He keeps telling himself his brothers still come first, yet he makes decisions that aren’t necessarily the decisions he would have made before she came into his life.

Laney is hiding something. She hasn’t had the easiest life, but she tends to keep her woes to herself even while wanting to know more about Matt and his past. They both find themselves revealing more than they should and more than they ever have before.

This story is a page turner from the start, but about half way through it just becomes so intriguing it’s hard to put down. Not only do we have the pasts of both Laney and Matt coming back to haunt them, there’s also the undeniable chemistry that is hitting them at every turn…even when they’re upset with one another.

I really adore these brothers and this author. If you liked the first story in this series, Forgotten Sins, you’ll love this one. It’s even better!

This is the second book in the series of these brothers who were lab created by a secret government faction and raised to be super soldiers. They all somehow managed to escape, and now they are fighting time to figure out how to disable a deadly chip that has been implanted in their spine. All while trying to avoid being re-captured. In this book, they get a lead on a doctor who can possibly help them. Matt ends up in a small town looking for the doctor, but finds the woman of his dreams instead. What follows is action and adventure with a healthy dose of romance thrown in. And once again, the past comes back to haunt the brothers and threatens their future.

This book was much better than the first book. The story moved along in a good way. I enjoyed the action as well as the romance. Matt really met his match in Laney. And she fits in good with the other guys and with Josie I love the family they’re all building. And I love the surprises that keep unraveling as each story unfolds. I can’t wait for the next book to see what’s next for out boys.
