Chelsea and Shay have been friends for years. Chelsea has been warning Shay to stay away from her brother, Lochlyn, almost as long. For years, Shay didn’t think Lochlyn would be interested in her so it wasn’t a big deal. Thanksgiving of her senior year of high school, though, he tells her that he is interested in much more than just the kiss that they share that night. Now they are both left with a dilemma, do they sneak around, or do they tell Chelsea?

At the beginning of this story, the author tells you that Shay will seem juvenile in how she deals with situations and while her reactions certainly are juvenile, they make sense. She doesn’t have anyone to show her how to navigate these situations since her mom checked out and she can’t talk to her best friend (obviously). I think that the threat of losing one more person from her life is more than she can bear, so while she wants the relationship with Loch, she’s not sure she wants his sister to find out and lose her. No one could blame her for feeling that way. The short period of angst late in this book makes perfect sense in that light too. I liked the resolution and the teaser for the next book!

Another 5 star read from Shayna. So in the beginning of the book Shayna says shay will annoy you. I didn't get that from shay at all the opposite actually loved her. But who did annoy me was Chelsea! Shay and Lochlyn are goals. They have the greatest friendship ! I love that they also have So many of the same things in common. I loved how this story unfolded! The character development with not only Shay but Lochlyn as well is amazing. But I definitely can't wait to see where she's goes with Chelsea's story! Shattered pieces was my go to favorite but off limits has totally replaced it
