Dana is drawn back repeatedly through time to the slave quarters, and each time the stay grows longer, more arduous, and more dangerous until it is uncertain whether or not Dana’s life will end, long before it has a chance to begin.

This is a very good book, everyone should read it. My main gripe comes with how disability is spoken about and represented - I understand that impairment was a fundamental part of African American Slavery, and the book was written in 1979 but still, it just was a little much at times tbh
