Ugh. I actually really liked the book, but I also regret ever picking it up and would not recommend anyone else read it. Let me explain.
I got this book from Amazon's World Book Day giveaway so I was hoping for a great read, and I did end up enjoying it! Really long, took a minute to figure out who the characters are and adjust to the fantasy setting, but it was unlike any other book I'd read and by the end I was truly on board and delighted for the happy ending. I'd have left a longer review on the pros and cons, and a 4 star rating, if not for taking a peak at the other Goodreads reviews first and seeing loads of allegations for plagiarism. What??
I looked into it, and my current understanding is essentially, the author Da Fung Gui Wo originally wrote the book "Peach Blossom Debt" and later this author, Tang Qi wrote "Three Lifetimes: Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms" which was later translated to this book and used as the basis for a TV show. And there is a plethora of evidence to suggest that Three Lifetimes (this book) is a plagiarization of Peach Blossom Debt (along with others). More to it including why the original story was never published and why the issue has not been brought to court to be officially settled (namely, due to homosexuality in the original) but even a quick Google search revealed tons of evidence to show that many of the key characters and plot points and even key lines were entirely un-original. Sucks. For that, morally, 1 star. I'm also shocked that nobody making the decision to include this in the Amazon World Book selection either did any research into it or did and simply wasn't deterred.

Don't misundertand, I liked this book. But I can't give it the praise it might deserve when I know this is a piece of theft.
I wish I could read the original work from wich this was copied. Since there's no translation available I can only show my support to the original author by giving this book the lowest rank.
Plagiarism is NOT okay.
