"Tonight, we're just two people lost in a city not our own." My name is Rachel Price, and the sky is officially falling. Imagine being at your brother's wedding brunch when you get an email that crushes all your dreams. I didn't win the Barkley Fellowship. My rising career in sports medicine has just come crashing down. So here I sit, alone in this swanky hotel bar, ready to drown my feelings in bitters and bourbon. Then suddenly, in walks . . . him. Contains mature themes.

The way I devoured this! It was so hot! I can’t wait to read the book and find out how they reunite!

    - I opened the full book Pucking Around and it suggested I read this novella first, so I did
    - the author warns that this is insta-love and it really is: Jake and Rachel have some mystical levels of both passionate sexual chemistry and also personality / Soul-deep connection
    - this was fun to read as erotica, but somewhat eye rolling as the romantic element
    - I didn't think this story was *required* for Pucking Around but it did do all of the work between Rachel and Jake (despite that not really being much work) aka no real relationship work happens between them in PA
    - I liked Jake's character better here than in Pucking Around; he seemed to be only a golden retriever in PA
    - One reviewer says this was "Peak Millennial Cringe"... and I kinda see it?
    - I agree it was weird that Rachel was scared when Jake left, but she left him
    - I don't recall Rachel putting puck bunnies down therefore insecurity?
    - this was a fun quick steamy read: you got what you paid for, nothing more
    - somehow I still like Rachel and Jake despite the insta-love element
