Malcolm is one of the city's top bachelors and makes not apologies for going through women like water. Ellen works for him as his assistant. She is also working for his rival, Gary, gathering information about Malcolm's business. Gary helped her some years ago so now he feels like she owes him for everything. Eventually Malcolm realizes that there has to be a mole within his company but he does not realize that Ellen is the issue.
At the same time that all of this undermining business is going on, Malcolm and Ellen are also forming a personal relationship.
