i have mixed feelings about this one tbh, i enjoyed it at times but at others it felt like it dragged on i was so close to dnf-ing. there was just too much backstory, flashbacks, backstory and while it was interesting learning how the characters are all connected in some way, it was just too much?

also on the topic of characters, they were all connected. like literally. each supposedly plot twist was a means of revealing that the bad guy was connected to the mc, and it kept on happening. like how william was raised in the same orphanage as orville?? it sounded too 'coincedental'

overall, the last 30% picked up really quick and managed to finish it in a single sitting, i was glad to make through all that info-dumping to get a somewhat satisfactory ending. I'll probably be picking up the next because it's like half the length of the first one and i kinda wanna see if it gets better
