Stephen King

Enjoyment: 4.0Quality: 3.5Characters: 4.0Plot: 4.0

In the first book of this series, Stephen King introduces readers to one of his most enigmatic heroes, Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland pursues The Man in Black, encounters an alluring woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the Kid from Earth called Jake. Both grippingly realistic and eerily dreamlike, The Gunslinger leaves readers eagerly awaiting the next chapter.

I started this in paperback and disliked it only a few pages in. I'm trying it in audio because some books I prefer that way, but I still... I don't want to say I hate it, but I actively dislike it. I've rolled my eyes an incredible number of times. First bad experience with King. Wtf is this and does it get better?
